About Me

Hello!

My name is Ben and this is my first time traveling abroad.

I come from the grand state of Wisconsin, via Chicago Illinois (otherwise known as the most awesome city in the country), in the United States of America. As I tell all my students when they inevitably ask these questions (usually in this order)... I'm 31, I don't have children, there are 7 people in my immediate family, I like dogs, cats, and snakes, and my favorite foods in Vietnam are banh mi, xoi ga, banh bao, and fried rice. I love food, infrastructure, sustainable design, arts and crafts, and singing while riding my motorbike!

I've written a little bit about why I'm traveling here.

I've written a little more about why I chose Vietnam first here.

I've written an embarrassing amount of posts about food, you can see them here.

If you have any questions about Vietnam, HCMC, teaching abroad, or anything else, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me!

Please join me as I learn more about myself, cities, design, nature, and the world!

    1. Hi Margot! Thank you!! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I miss you all in Chicago, too, but I have to admit this is a pretty exciting place to be. ;) I'll let you all know when I'll be home next (probably about a year from now). :D I can't wait to hear all about how you're doing, too!
